Profile: Mr. Rajesh Kumar is the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department at ARMIET College. He completed his Masters in Manufacturing Engineering from NIT Warangal. He has total 5 year experience in teaching and research. He has published 16 research papers and successfully guided many project groups. He worked as head of facilitation centre (FC), senior supervisor of exam under Mumbai University. Coordinated and Organized different activities like conference, industrial seminar, and attended various technical and industrial workshops

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at AlamuriRatnamala Institute of Engineering and Technology (ARMIET), Shahapur was formed in 2008 and offers B.E. and M.E. programs. Both the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) Programs are regularly updated by the University of Mumbai to cope up with the ever-changing technology and demands of the industry.

Our goal is to provide the requisite platform to budding engineers and technocrats to sharpen their reasoning, analytical and communication skills along with requisite technical knowledge so that they can face the future challenges of growing technology with confidence. The Four year B.E. program started since inception builds strong foundations in all traditional areas of Mechanical Engineering. The teaching at postgraduate level was started with M.E. (Energy Systems and Management) program from the year 2014. At present intake for B.E. students in the department is 60 and for M.E. is 24.

The academic curriculum being choice-based promotes independent thinking and learning at an individual’s pace. The department strives to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities to our UG and PG students where they bring their project and research ideas to practical applications.Most of the students of Mechanical Engineering Department are well placed in research-oriented industries and top ranking companies. Our departmental alumni are at the forefront in Mechanical Engineering and related fields within India and internationally.

Objective

The concept of publication of this News Letter is to update the latest departmental activities related to our Students, Parents, Faculty and Industrial activities

Mechanical engineering leading to the bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is a structured program that prepares students for a broad range of career choices in the field of mechanical engineering.

The course is intended for students whose career objectives require greater flexibility. Mechanical engineering deals with design and production of tools, machines and all other mechanical equipment to be used in industries.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Alamuri Ratnamala Institute of Engineering and Technology (ARMIET), Shahapur was formed in 2008 and offers B.E. and M.E. programs. Both the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) Programs are regularly updated by the University of Mumbai to cope up with the ever-changing technology and demands of the industry. At present intake for B.E. students in the department is 60 and for M.E. is 24.

The department has 20 faculty members, a blend of experienced faculty from various reputed academic institutions who are guiding the department in right perspective. 

The department is equipped with various laboratories which consists with production machines like CNC machine, 3D printer and advance analysis software like ANSYS.

The Department is very well equipped with computational facilities and resources both in terms of hardware and software. There are more than 30 computers running a wide range of software products covering all areas of Mechanical Engineering as given below:

The Department has a student association, “MESA”, which organizes various competitions like Technical Quiz, Design Contest, Food festival, Technical Paper presentations and Technical events like RoboRace, RoboWar etc. Students also participate in various sports organized by Mumbai University.

The Department regularly conducts Guest Lectures by industry experts and organizes industry visits for providing industry exposure to students.

M.Tech. in Material Technology department from Premier National Institute of Technology Warangal, Telangana India. Published 8 research papers in reputed national and International Journals.Research worked on Sintered reaction bonded silicon nitride, Al-7075 SiC composite, Magneto rheological fluids based Damper, hydrogen bike & etc.Co-ordinate NAAC, NBA, Facilitation Center, University Sports, University Exam and Institute level activity at different levels.

Profile: Mr. Abdur Rasid Mullah is currently working as an Assistant Professor in ARMIET, Thane. He Graduated from Jorhat engineering college,Assam and Post-Graduate from National Institute of Technology, Warangal with specialization in Computer Integrated Manufacturing(CIM). He is actively involved in teaching and research and has successfully guided multiple B.Tech students’ project group. He has good experience in CNC programming, Arduino Programming, PLC programming, 3D modeling and has hand-on experience in handling CNC machine and 3D printer.

Profile: Ms. Pragati Avinash Ingole is currently working as an assistant professor in ARMIET, Thane Region. She has done her graduation and post graduation from SPPU with specialization in heat power. Published research papers in national and international journals relating to the field of Nanotechnology. She had 6+ months of industrial experience in duct design. 2 years of teaching experience in Savitaribai Phule Pune University. Worked as an NAAC co-coordinator, assistant to college exam officer(CEO) and senior supervisor and also the culture head in SPPU. She has handled various job profile in administration section. She is currently acting as exam co- coordinator. She is well rounded individual who lives with passion, dedication and grace.
